FREE CARDIAC SCREENING CAMP (17TH March,2024)

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) have now become the leading cause of mortality in India. Ischemic heart disease and
stroke are the predominant causes and are responsible for >80% of CVD deaths. The Global Burden of Disease study
estimate of age-standardized CVD death rate of 272 per 100 000 population in India is higher than the global average of
235 per 100 000 population.
Premature mortality in terms of years of life lost because of CVD in India increased by 59%, and the annual number of
deaths from CVD in India is projected to rise from 2.26 million (1990) to 4.77 million (2020). Coronary heart disease
prevalence rates in India have been estimated over the past several decades and have ranged from 1.6% to 7.4% in rural
populations and from 1% to 13.2% in urban populations

In India, urbanization and modernization are moving at breakneck speed. With every step we move forward, but our negligence to personal health can take us far more backward than we might have imagined.
Our Cardiac Screening Camp was mainly aimed to identify the poor and disadvantaged residents of Rishra and its adjoining areas those who cannot get proper treatment in time due to their financial weakness and that are why they don’t want or can’t even go to the doctor. As a result, they ignore many health problems that gradually appear in their bodies.
To make this camp successful we first organized Toto campaign in that particular area for last one month. Along with this, various digital marketing (Face book, Whatsapp, Instagram etc) and festoons, banners etc. are also promoted. Apart from that, we try to reach out as much as possible to the residents of that particular area to create awareness and explain when, where and for what purpose this cardiac camp is being organized and what benefits they can get by participating in this camp.
A completely free Cardiac Screening Camp was organized on 17th March,2024 (Sunday) at Community Hall, Ward No-9, T.C. Mukherjee Street, Rishra, Hooghly (11.00 am to 4.00 P.M) under the supervision and support of Ma Sarada Health and Education Trust & Aditya Birla Jan Seva Trust Grasim Industries (Jaysree Textile, Rishra) and in association with Ma Sarada Hospital.
To organize and conduct the Cardiac Screening Camp smoothly, we form a team whose dedicated efforts make the camp
successful. We had a renowned Cardio Specialist and a General Medicine doctor to provide health counseling and
treatment to the patients participating in this camp.
More than 76 people who have been suffering from heart related problems for a long time took advantage of this free
camp.
The camp had some special facilities like free Consultation by Expert Cardiac & general Medicine Doctors, Free Medicine
distribution, Free ECG Test, Blood Test and also Free BP, Pulse, CBG, Weight tests.
